Building a Career at Schwab: Intern to Full Time Schwabbie - Hear Taji's Story

Desde a sua criação, a Academia de Estagiários preparou jovens profissionais ansiosos e apaixonados para serem equipados com as habilidades pessoais e profissionais de que precisam para ter sucesso em suas carreiras. Para muitos estudantes, iniciar um estágio de verão em uma empresa pode oferecer uma variedade de oportunidades e aventuras emocionantes: novas amizades, uma chance de desenvolver habilidades profissionais e uma chance única na vida de conectar e interagir com pessoas que nunca teriam encontrado antes. Os estagiários estão expostos à cultura da empresa, várias linhas de negócios diferentes e um ambiente totalmente novo dentro de poucas semanas. Para o atual gerente de projeto, Taji H., faz seis anos desde o tempo como estagiária na Academia de Estágio de Schwab e pensamos que era hora de finalmente recuperar o atraso! Ao descrever sua experiência profissional com Schwab desde o estágio, Taji mencionou como ela foi capaz de: “Coletar habilidades diferentes de diferentes partes dos negócios que são capazes de se emprestar ao próximo projeto. Foi uma experiência de aprendizado contínuo, que eu realmente gosto de que ela também foi muito gratificante. “Quando terminei o estágio e, quando comecei na Schwab em período integral, fui considerado um coordenador de projeto para mais do nível de associado. Então, eu meio que me mudei a partir daí e assumi mais responsabilidades para o papel de sua carreira em seu tempo de gerenciamento de projetos. Taji explained how “There are two big learning lessons that have come out of it and one of them is the importance of building really strong connections and relationships with people by being able to speak to people in a way that benefits them and in a way they understand. I think an equally important lesson is also building a strong relationship with myself. So I think in terms of that, it is just really understanding, for me, particularly what ways do I work best?”

As time has passed, the interns who came back to join Schwab as permanent employees are finally having a chance to reflect on their journey as Schwinterns to full-time Schwabbies. For current Project Manager, Taji H., it has been six years since her time as an intern in Schwab’s Internship Academy and we thought it was time to finally catch up!

Texas native and Texas State University alum, Taji H., interned with Schwab in 2014 and made her return as a full-time employee a year later. When describing her career experience with Schwab since her internship, Taji mentioned how she was able to, “collect different skills from different parts of the business that are able to lend themselves to the next project. It has been a continuous learning experience, which I really enjoy. But it has also been very, very rewarding.”

Part of that rewarding experience for Taji has also been moving her way up in the company from an entry-level position to her current role that she is in today: “When I finished the internship and when I started at Schwab full time, I was considered a project coordinator for more of the associate level. So, I have just kind of moved up from there and taken on more responsibilities to the role of moving into the project management space.”

With being able to advance in her career and experience many different roles during her time at Schwab, Taji’s career progression has also resulted in some important learning lessons for her personal and professional life. Taji explained how “There are two big learning lessons that have come out of it and one of them is the importance of building really strong connections and relationships with people by being able to speak to people in a way that benefits them and in a way they understand. I think an equally important lesson is also building a strong relationship with myself. So I think in terms of that, it is just really understanding, for me, particularly what ways do I work best?”

De que outras maneiras posso agregar valor ao grupo em que estou e os projetos em que estou. Acho que muito disso continua continuando a entender o que é que as pessoas precisam e encontrar maneiras, e através da tecnologia ou através de dados para avançar e trazer informações para que possamos, como uma equipe, trabalhar juntos, trabalhar juntos e, por meio de dados, e através da vida e a vida inteira e a vida e que possam ser realizados.

Por fim, como uma estagiária anterior, Taji ofereceu seus melhores conselhos para futuros estagiários da Schwab: “Nunca pare de construir seu conjunto de habilidades. Seja as habilidades difíceis ou as habilidades sociais, sempre tente estar aprendendo algo e tenta avançar o que você quer que você entenda que você realmente se preocupa, se você quer que você entenda, se você realmente, que você entende, se você quer que você entenda, se você quer que você entenda que, se você realmente, que você entenda, que você se considera que você quer que você se queira? Cinco vezes. A academia estagiária de Schwab foi a catapulta da jornada de carreira em período integral de Taji e por causa de seu trabalho duro e da disposição de Schwab de apoiar seus objetivos, Taji foi capaz de inflamar sua paixão por ajudar os outros. As Taji described earlier, her career progression at Schwab has been encompassed by valuable learning lessons, educational experiences, and overall, a chance for her to grow and strengthen her career. Schwab’s Intern Academy was the catapult for Taji’s full-time career journey and because of her hard work and Schwab’s willingness to support her goals, Taji was able to Ignite her Passion for helping others.
